Reviewing S/T: Self-Titled (Klangbad EFA 64026-2)
Martin Brauner and Joachim Gaertner established their nameless project in 1993. This Frankfurt duo are clearly influenced by Faust, so it's no surprise that they have released this album on their label (Klangbad). Half songs, half simple lyricism, recited against the background of hypnotic electronic rumble - this minimalist, but idealised sounding album is built from collage and ballads, post-industrial aesthetics are combined with the poetry of groups like Tocotronic.
