S/T ist eine Band aus Frankfurt, die Musik machen, die man vor 20 Jahren Krautrock genannt hätte, und heute, da sowas kaum noch gemacht wird, mit keiner passenden Schublade zu fassen ist. Einflüsse sind da von Can bis zu Jesus and the Mary Chain raus zuhören, aber Sachen wie Syd Barrett oder gar Amon Düül werden laut Korrespondentenberichten von den Musikern auch geliebt. Außer mit ihrer seltsamen, sehr unmodischen Musik überraschen S/T auch durch die Aufmachung ihrer Veröffentlichungen. Bis jetzt sind zwei Tapes und drei Singles in Kleinstauflagen erschienen. Die letzte 7" Kilon Bauno handelt textlich vom letzten Indianerhäuptling der Bikini Inseln. Der Inhalt der Box besteht aus mehreren grafisch sehr aufwendigen Innenblättern und einer Single in blauem Vinyl mit einer Insel. Die Insel ist aber nicht gemalt oder gezeichnet, sondern richtig dreidimensional gebaut. Man muß es sehen, um es zu verstehen. Zu bekommen sind diese Sachen natürlich nur im Eigenvertrieb. Wer schon immer mal wissen wollte, was man alles tun kann, um eine Schallplatte zu verpacken, oder auf die Musik neugierig geworden ist...

S/T is a band from Frankfurt making music that 20 years ago would be called Krautrock, and today, since something like this is hardly being created anymore, cannot be put into a fitting pigeon-hole. Influences can be heard from Can to Jesus and the Mary Chain but things like Syd Barrett or even Amon Düül are, according to reports from correspondents, also well-liked by the musicians.
In addition to their unusual, very unfashionable music, S/T also surprises us with the layout of their productions. Until now two tapes and three singles have been released in limited editions. The lyrics of the latest 7" Kilon Bauno concerns the last Indian chief of the Bikini islands. The contents of the box consists of several very sumptuous graphical inserts and a single in blue vinyl with an island. The island however, is not painted or drawn, but really build three dimensionally. You have to see it, to understand it. Of course these goodies can only be obtained through private distribution. Anyone who always wanted to know what kind of things you can do packaging a record, or got curious about the music.
