This was a private gig on a terrace at Faust's headquarters (Faust-Sud, if you want to be particular) on a warm late August night in front of twelve people who were very enthusiastic about what we did, especially one of them. Released as a gift called "Dürmentingen" on save our sperms records and you can still listen to, or download it, from : The Faust Pages . Also a complete video exists.
Editor's Note: This was the first time I ever heard S/T. It was the last night before the guys left the site to return to Frankfurt, and they would say goodbye with a gig, playing through Faust's PA system as all of those working on the studio building site ate their evening meal. It was dark and the PA was loud. A spotlight threw giant shadows against the wall of the old studio. I was expecting a synth-pop duo because, you know, they are German and a duo, so what else would it be? To tell the truth, I wasn't looking forward to it.. who needs a synth-pop duo? Instead, they walked out and blew me away. I thought I was having a seizure and hearing all of my favourite music at the same time - my jaw dropped and stayed there until the end of the gig, after the encores. The only gig I ever saw that had the same impact was Faust's own legendary performance at The Garage in London in 1996. The good news is that Sophie made a video recording of the whole set. One day it may get a release.
